Math Entities and Real Browsers
Math entities as defined for use with HTML and real browsers don't
always work well together. I took a quick survey on the Doc-SIG in
2001, and am presenting the results here instead of letting the
collected data rot in a text file in my working directory.
Of particular interest at the time were the entities
± (for the "plus or minus" sign, usually
typeset as a little plus sign hovering over a little minus sign), and
∞ (the "infinity" sign; typeset as a
lazy-eight).
