EXTD=Disco, Disco, September 16, 2005 \nBy  KRA (East End of LI)  \nAs
EXTD= many of you know, after the infamous "Disco-Sucks" period of lat
EXTD=e 79 in to 1980, Disco became a forbidden word for new music. Ho
EXTD=wever as early as 1980 a number of "Dance" music hits starting to
EXTD= invade the Pop Charts. Songs like 1980's Take Your Time (do it r
EXTD=ight) by the SOS Band, 1982's Love Come Down by Evelyn King, and
EXTD=others reiterated that Dance Music was not going away. \n\nBy 198
EXTD=3, Michael Jackson's Dance Pop would dominate the airwaves, and t
EXTD=he movies Flashdance was Footloose were released. \n\nThe creator
EXTD=s of the movie Flashdance wanted an appropriate Soundtrack to sup
EXTD=port the movie, and they turned to the producer most known for hi
EXTD=s already by then Classic Disco Songs, Giorgio Moroder. Giorgio t
EXTD=ogether with Keith Forsey and Irene Cara created the song, Flashd
EXTD=ance, What A Feeling. Giorgio then recomended a song that he prod
EXTD=uced almost 2 years earlier from the then unreleased album by Don
EXTD=na Summer, I'm A Rainbow, and thus Romeo made the roster. \n\nGio
EXTD=rgio also produced 3 additional new tracks for the album, includi
EXTD=ng the ballad, Lady, Lady, Lady sung by Joe Esposito, best known
EXTD=for his vocals on the Donna Summer hit, Heaven Knows. \n\nA relat
EXTD=ivly unkown singer/writer/producer, Michael Sembello, scored the
EXTD=second mega hit from the release with his own song, Maniac, and h

EXTD= the only Pop song that came near the chart profile of Irene Cara
EXTD='s What A Feeling during the summer of '83, was Donna Summer with

EXTD=IEW\nMore Popular Than The Movie--I Can See Why!, December 29, 20
EXTD=04 \nBy Nick (New Jersey)\n\nI love the movie "Flashdance", and
EXTD=the only thing better than the movie is the soundtrack. The title
EXTD= song "Flashdance...What A Feeling" is an absolute classic, and s
EXTD=oared up to #1 on the Billboard charts for 5 or 6 straight weeks!
EXTD= One of the best soundtracks of the 80s! \n\n"Flashdance...What A
EXTD= Feeling" by Irene Cara--The best song on the entire album. It is
EXTD= about the passion of dance, and is also about how it feels when
EXTD=she is dancing. One of the greatest songs in the world, the album
EXTD= is worth buying just for this song. 5/5 \n\n"He's A Dream" by Sh
EXTD=andi--A good song. It is the song that plays the first time we se
EXTD=e Alex dance in Mawby's Bar, along with the famous water splashin
EXTD=g routine. Obviously, it is about a girl seeing a guy and falling
EXTD= in love with him. It is fun to dance to and catchy as well. 4.5/
EXTD=5 \n\n"Love Theme From 'Flashdance'" by Helen St. John--AWESOME!
EXTD=There are no words to it, it is just some of the most beautiful m
EXTD=usic ever written. It plays a couple of times in the film, partic
EXTD=ularly when Alex and Nick are starting to fall for each other. Th
EXTD=e music is very beautiful and relaxing. A highlight of the album
EXTD=by far. 5/5 \n\n"Manhunt" by Karen Kamon--Very rock n' roll. It i
EXTD=s about a girl who is fed up with being objectified by men, so sh
EXTD=e turns the tables. It is a cool song to rock out to, and was the
EXTD= background music of Cynthia Rhodes's only dance in the movie. 4/
EXTD=5 \n\n"Lady, Lady, Lady" by Joe Ben Esposito--This is such a good
EXTD= song! It plays on Nick and Alex's first date in the film, and Jo
EXTD=e's voice is very nice. This is a good song to listen to if you w
EXTD=ant to relax. 5/5 \n\n"Imagination" by Laura Branigan--A song I u
EXTD=sed to love, but now it is just OK. It is basically about using y
EXTD=our imagination. In the movie, it is played during the famous str
EXTD=obe light routine. Laura's other song "Gloria" is also in the mov
EXTD=ie when Jeanie skates, but not on the soundtrack. I think that it
EXTD= would have been better than "Imagination". 4/5 \n\n"Romeo" by Do
EXTD=nna Summer--My least favorite on the album. The music is cool, bu
EXTD=t the song itself isn't that great. They should have picked a bet
EXTD=ter song instead. Sorry Donna! 3.5/5 \n\n"Seduce Me Tonight" by C
EXTD=ycle V--Another good rock song from the album. This plays during
EXTD=the scene where Alex stops Jeanie from working at the strip club.
EXTD= It is a pretty good song, but I usually skip it in the middle. 3
EXTD=.5/5 \n\n"I'll Be Here Where The Heart Is" by Kim Carnes--A tragi
EXTD=c song. It plays in the movie after Hanna dies and Alex is at hom
EXTD=e all depressed. This song is awesome, and makes the best out of
EXTD=a bad situation. 5/5 \n\n"Maniac" by Michael Sembello--AN ABSOLUT
EXTD=E CLASSIC SONG! This song is the reason I bought the CD. I had on
EXTD=ly seen the movie once, and only because I knew of this song. Aft
EXTD=er I rented it, I got a gift certificate to FYE. I got the DVD an
EXTD=d the soundtrack. I must have played this song 50 times in a row!
EXTD= It is the second most famous song from the album, and was also n
EXTD=ominated for an Academy Award. Awesome awesome awesome! 5/5 \n\n\n
EXTD=AMAZON.COM CUSTOMER REVIEW\nSounds as good today as it did when i
EXTD=t was first released!, February 7, 2003 \nBy LEE (Seattle, WA Un
EXTD=ited States)\nI can still recall seeing this movie when it was fi
EXTD=rst released. I was so impressed with the music that I drove to t
EXTD=he record store to buy the LP. I taped the album onto a cassette
EXTD=so I could listen to it while driving and exercising. The cassett
EXTD=e eventually broke. My turntable also broke so I couldn't listen
EXTD=to the LP. I needed my "Flashdance" fix so I purchased the CD. I
EXTD=hadn't heard the CD in a couple of years, but listening to it bro
EXTD=ught back the same kind of excitment as when I first heard it. Li
EXTD=ke "Saturday Night Fever," this one has staying power. I guess I'
EXTD=ll have to buy the DVD movie. \n\n\nAMAZON.COM CUSTOMER REVIEW\n1
