EXTD=wing Cliff Burton's death, Metallica took some time off and initi
EXTD=ated new bassist Jason Newsted with a raw, unpolished EP of cover
EXTD=s originally recorded by Diamond Head, Holocaust, Killing Joke, B
EXTD=udgie, and the Misfits. Most fit the band's style quite well; onl
EXTD=y "Last Caress" sounds out of place, as the original seemed loose
EXTD=r and more dangerous. As a showcase for some strong metal riffs a
EXTD=nd material by mostly underground bands, the EP works quite well.

EXTD=ch 12, 2007 \nBy  Jay Squier "Jay" (Florida, USA)\nThis is a grea
EXTD=t collection of cover tunes from the cover Kings. Metallica has a
EXTD= knack for picking just the right songs to cover and doing them w
EXTD=ell. This was released between the death of Cliff Burton and the
EXTD=recording of ...And Justice For All. I have Jason Newstead's auto
EXTD=graph on the original cassette cover. They called it "The $5.98 E
EXTD=P", so stores couldn't hike the price up on the consumer. I would
EXTD= like to say, "Get this cd!!", but the fact is, you would be bett
EXTD=er off buying "Garage Inc.", which includes all these tracks and
EXTD=about 20 more on a 2 cd set. \n\n\nAMAZON.COM CUSTOMER REVIEW\nAw

EXTD=out on the Garage Inc CD with all the B Sides. Nonetheless, I lov
EXTD=e this album, the album cover -- they all look really happy and o
EXTD=n the back you see the picture negatives of them in and out of tr
EXTD=uck with Lars's father. Hearing these songs alone is a treat on r
EXTD=ecord... You really feel the energy and the good vibes the band m
EXTD=embers had back then. \n\nAll the way through, it it classic Meta
EXTD=llica doing some great covers, which you can totally understand t
EXTD=he similarities of the songs they copy and how they were influenc
EXTD=ed. \n\nOften when bands take it easy, do covers and fool around
EXTD=it can sound better! Last Caress (Originally by Danig) is better
EXTD=than the one on here, but this is all done just for kicks. \n\nOd
EXTD=dly enough, it's one of my favorite "albums," and too add, I thin
EXTD=k it's better than the original Garage Days, because It has more
EXTD=songs. I think the songs chosen here are phenomenal and show a re
EXTD=markable recovery since Cliff died the year before in a bus accid
EXTD=ent in Sweden. I \n\nThere's even a "nutty bow" to Iron Maiden's
EXTD="Run to the Hills" on here as well. It is as if Iron Maiden, retu
EXTD=rned the greeting by putting on their "Be Quick or be Dead" singl
EXTD=e "...Metallica in the rear view mirror" in the song they covered
EXTD= "Space Station No. 5." \n\nIf you like collecting records, this
EXTD=is the one to have! Metallica, the raw Metallica! \n\nPS: I am pl
EXTD=eased to learn that you can records of Amazon too -- Sweet! They
EXTD=should make it more well-known! \n\n\nAMAZON.COM CUSTOMER REVIEW\n

EXTD=since my older brother had a copy of this album on cassette when
EXTD=it first came out. I'll only be buying it just to get all of Meta
EXTD=llica's albums. I already have most of their albums and I'm only
EXTD=missing this one and SOME KIND OF MONSTER. So, if you would like
