EXTD=ers released Jazzmasters III in the summerof 1999, their blend of
EXTD= fusion, jazz, pop, new ageand worldbeathad become well-known in
EXTD=contemporary jazz. At this stage in their career, most smooth jaz
EXTD=z musicians become complacent, and it'sto Hardcastle'scredit that
EXTD= he pushes forward. Not that Jazzmasters III will sound different
EXTD= or unusual to any fan of the first two albums -- it stillhas the
EXTD= signature Jazzmaster sound. Nevertheless, there are subtle diffe
EXTD=rences, such as the instrumentals getting spacier and the vocal n
EXTD=umbers being strongshowcases forRodgers. As such, this is the ric
EXTD=hest and arguably best Jazzmasters yet. -- Stephen Thomas Erlewin
