EXTT0=eral History:\n\n women in docs formed in 1998 and have toured rele
EXTT0=ntlessly throughout Australia ever since, playing most major festivals
EXTT0= and venues. They also tour internationally each year, performing spec
EXTT0=ial events in Asia and Europe and playing extensively throughout North
EXTT0= America. \n\n As fiercely independent folk troubadours, women in d
EXTT0=ocs have built a strong, loyal and diverse following, and an enviable
EXTT0=reputation for quality performances and recordings. They are widely re
EXTT0=spected as one of Australia s premier self-managed acts, and were reco
EXTT0=gnised as such by the Music Manager s Forum s Self Managed Artist Awar
EXTT0=d in 2004.\n\n    Bio:\n\n     \n    To consider a label like  perhaps
EXTT0= Australia's hardest working artists might be giving too much credit
EXTT0=to some acts, but for Women in Docs its a label that fits like a glove
EXTT0=.\n\n As the girls release their sophomore album Red Wine & Postcar
EXTT0=ds, their achievement and continued dedication to their craft has neve
EXTT0=r been more marked.\n\n For eight years, Roz Pappalardo and Chanel
EXTT0=Lucas have worked their way up through the music industry ranks from p
EXTT0=laying in their bedrooms in far North Queensland, then moving to the b
EXTT0=ig smoke of Brisbane and capturing the hearts of a dedicated national
EXTT0=fan base. But they didn't stop there. The girls grabbed their passport
EXTT0=s and headed overseas to win over audiences throughout North America,
EXTT0=Europe and Asia.\n\n Women in Docs have accrued an impressive array
EXTT0= of career benchmarks. They ve played major festivals and music indust
EXTT0=ry events throughout the world. They enjoy ongoing airplay throughout
EXTT0=Australia. They have sold over 20,000 CDs independently. Recent releas
EXTT0=es have spent time in the Top 20 of the Australian Independent Records
EXTT0= Charts. And they regularly play to packed houses, touching the lives
EXTT0=of people from a broad cross-section of ages and cultural backgrounds.
EXTT0=\n\n Women in Docs recently showcased at the 2006 Folk Alliance con
EXTT0=ference (Austin, Texas) and Canadian Music Week and will be returning
EXTT0=overseas later in the year to capitalise on this success and oversee t
EXTT0=heir first US release.\n\n It s hard not to love women in docs. If
EXTT0=they haven't already caught you in their web of fans, their new album
EXTT0=will grab you with delightfully honest and down to earth humour, dress
EXTT0=ed in stealthily addictive melodies. And comfortable shoes.\n\n Quo

EXTT0=ese are two women from North Queensland whose great joy in life is mak
EXTT0=ing music, building a loyal base of fans wherever they play. Those wh
EXTT0=o enjoy Ani Di Franco, The Waifs, and other independent spirits will f
EXTT0=ind plenty to admire in the Docs. In concert their ebullient personali
EXTT0=ties and infectious harmonies carry the day, but on this first full-le
EXTT0=ngth album they add some spice in the production without losing the or
EXTT0=iginal spirit. There will always be a place for honest emotions and t
EXTT0=unes you can hum delivered with spirit and conviction. Noel Mengel
EXTT0=in The Courier Mail, re Under a Different Sky.\n\n Although it s a
EXTT0= polished showcase, Under a Different Sky replicates the energy and eb
EXTT0=ullience evident in the Docs live shows. The womens voices, beautifu
EXTT0=lly translucent in solo verses, overlap into the sweetest harmony in t
EXTT0=he choruses. Their debut album captivates from track one. \n - Rhyt
EXTT0=hms Magazine (Best of 2002 CDs by Tony Hillier), re Under a Different
EXTT0=Sky.\n\n     A well-crafted and terrifically realised set of songs . m
EXTT0=akes for infectious folk-pop that may be a bit girly for some, but irr
EXTT0=esistible for others. The influences are obvious, from Tiddas to Indig
EXTT0=o Girls, and fans of either will find much to enjoy. The opening track
EXTT0= Crown Street is catchy as hell and sets the pace for a collection of
EXTT0=sunny and sweet songs about girl meets boy, boy meets girl, girl recon
EXTT0=ciles relationship with mother. It s all disarmingly charming and its
EXTT0=enthusiasm and energy make it difficult to dislike. Tom Jellett in
EXTT0=The Australian, re Under a Different Sky.\n\n Debut is the wrong w
EXTT0=ord for this album. A better description is the culmination of four ye
EXTT0=ars of independent blood, sweat and tears, clawing and crawling across
EXTT0= Australia. Brisbane s Roz Pappalardo and Chanel Lucas have become lik
EXTT0=e one beautiful voice and one well-travelled acoustic guitar, gliding
EXTT0=over a world of suburban despair (Ricky Lake), silly memories (Alright
EXTT0=) barber shops (Crown Street) and love lost in the aisle of the superm
EXTT0=arket between the greens and the dairy products (Supermarket). Paul
EXTT0=Kelly sings about real things like this, but his songs often make yo
EXTT0=u feel sad. Women in Docs lift you up, make you sad, then offer a way
EXTT0=out. - Brisbane News, re Under a Different Sky.\n\n Over the pas
EXTT0=t few years, the refreshingly disarming duo, who have no need to feign
EXTT0= a foreign accent for their inviting, folk-tinged pop melodies, have b
