EXTD=EVIEW: Due to the title cut, this was a huge seller when it origi
EXTD=nally came out. Reissued on CD, this set from flugelhornist Chuck
EXTD= Mangione (which helped give guitarist Grant Geissman some fame)
EXTD=is actually stronger from the jazz standpoint than Mangione's sub
EXTD=sequent dates. The leader has some good solos as does Geissman an
EXTD=d saxophonist Chris Vadala and the quintet's ensembles are genera
EXTD=lly both sparse and attractive. Pity that in ways this was Chuck
EXTD=Mangione's last worthwhile release to date; success did stunt his
EXTD= artistic growth.  -- Scott Yanow\n\nAMAZON.COM CUSTOMER REVIEW\n
EXTD=Feels Sorta Good, October 4, 2005\nReviewer: Timothy C. Steinert
EXTD=(Kirkland, WA)\nThe only problem I've ever had with Chuck Mangion
EXTD=e is that he plays sharp all the time. Other than that- I love hi
EXTD=s stuff. I also agree that the title track is fab, but especially
EXTD= the guitar solo is stellar. He, unfortunately, gets cut off righ
EXTD=t as he's starting to cook. Quite frustrating!\n\n\nAMAZON.COM CU
EXTD=STOMER REVIEW\nFeel So Good!!!!!!!!!!, June 23, 2004\nReviewer: A
EXTD= music fan\nThis album made Chuck Mangione a celebrity. Although
EXTD=Chuck made albums just as good as this one since about 1972, the
EXTD=hit single, Feel So Good introduced him to the public. Chuck did
EXTD=have hits before this like Bellevia, but Feel So Good was a winne
EXTD=r! This cd starts off with the the long version of Feel So Good.
EXTD=On the edited version and radio version, the trumpet intro was cu
EXTD=t, Chris Vadala's tenor sax solo was cut, and guitarist Grant Gei
EXTD=ssman's first solo was used half way through, followed by the oth
EXTD=er half of his second solo. Also, one of the melody phrases was t
EXTD=aken and doubled in length while they faded the song out. The sec
EXTD=ond song here is the underrated, Maui Waui which was never prefor
EXTD=med by Mangione at concerts and on records ever again. Don't know
EXTD= why, it's a great song! It sounds like some love story commercia
EXTD=l or something. Mangione always had a way of writing his music an
EXTD=d making you feel like you were somewhere or something. The third
EXTD= tune, Theme From Side Street, was also never preformed by the Ma
EXTD=ngione band ever again. It's a cute little tune with a great hook
EXTD= and spots for Grant and Chris to solo. Hide And Seek, is a funny
EXTD= little tune. My dad was always humming this song, after I would
EXTD=blast it downstairs where my stereo was. It's got wild solos by G
EXTD=rant and Chris. During the solos, you'd think you were listening
EXTD=to Led Zeplin! That's how outrageous it is! Last Dance is a ten m
EXTD=inute song, you kind of want to end, but do enjoy hearing. It has
EXTD= nothing to do with that disco song of the same name. The last tu
EXTD=ne is the song that made drummer James Bradley Jr. a legend aroun
EXTD=d drumming circles. Although his drum solo in this particular ver
EXTD=sion was kind of tame, he would take it at a more lightning speed
EXTD= on live preformances. Bassist Charles Meeks also gets a little j
EXTD=azz bass solo here. This is one of the best tracks on the album.
EXTD=If you never heard Chuck Mangione's records, this is a good place
EXTD= to start! I love this album and so would anyone else, who knows
EXTD=good jazz!\n\n\nAMAZON.COM CUSTOMER REVIEW\nMangione At The Top O
EXTD=f His Game, May 23, 2003\nReviewer: Bruce A. Hoskins (Derry, NH U
EXTD=nited States)\nMangione finally achieved large-scale popular and
EXTD=commercial success with this album. However, his previous fans al
EXTD=l knew that "Feels So Good" was just a continuing development in
EXTD=his already impressive music career. This album would still get a
EXTD= 5 star rating even without the title track. Unfortunately, the t
EXTD=itle track was so overplayed by pop radio in 1978, that casual Ma
EXTD=ngione fans got sick and tired of hearing it. But 25 years later,
EXTD= this music is still as wonderful as it was back then. Alas for u
EXTD=s true Mangione fans, this album was as good as it was to get fro
EXTD=m Mangione for the next 20 years. But we have never grown tired o
EXTD=f his mid-1970s cool jazz. This album and "Chase The Clouds Away"
EXTD= are absolute must haves. Now only if they would reissue "Bellavi
EXTD=a" and "Main Squeeze" on cd.\n\n\nAMAZON.COM CUSTOMER REVIEW\nThe
EXTD= man with the flugel horn sure can play!!, December 15, 2000\nRev
EXTD=iewer: Glenn "Glenn98" (Bergenfield, NJ USA)\nThe Grammy winning
EXTD=title cut "Feels so Good" is what turned me on to Chuck Mangione'
EXTD=s music. But this CD goes much further than that. ALL of the reco
EXTD=rdings here are excellent. And they are arranged alternating the
EXTD=fast and slow pieces in a pleasing way. "Maui Waui" and "Last Dan
EXTD=ce" are nice and relaxing. "Theme from Side Street" is short but
EXTD=meaningful. "Hide and Seek" is a catchy piece that will have you
EXTD=tapping to it. And "The XIth Commandment" is a brilliant end to t
EXTD=his great CD. \nThis is by far Chuck's best recording. If you're
EXTD=in a qundary about which Chuck Mangione CD to buy, THIS IS THE ON
