EXTD=Originally Released 1983\nCD Edition Released July 1995\nRemaster
EXTD=ed CD Edition Released April 11, 2006\n\nAMG EXPERT REVIEW: By th
EXTD=e time Eddie Murphy's Comedian was released, he was already on to
EXTD=p of the comedy world, as well as one of Hollywood and television
EXTD='s most important stars. He was already known for taking standup
EXTD=comedy and pushing it to the limit, but on Comedian he takes it o
EXTD=ne step further and in the process influenced an entire generatio
EXTD=n of aspiring young comedians to develop standup in a similar fas
EXTD=hion. None of the topics Murphy covers here are necessarily groun
EXTD=dbreaking, but the manner in which he sets up and executes joke a
EXTD=fter joke is almost like a machine gun: while one joke has unfold
EXTD=ed and the audience is recovering, he's firing off the next round
EXTD= with excellent timing and accuracy. Comedian is a classic and on
EXTD=e not easily bested in the comedy album world. -- Rob Theakston\n
EXTD=\n\nAMAZON.COM CUSTOMER REVIEW\nFor those looking, this IS the HB
EXTD=O "Delirious" concert set, May 18, 2005\nReviewer: Eric Skovan (N
EXTD=Y USA)\nJust wanted to clarify that for anyone looking for Eddie
EXTD=Murphy's very first HBO special "Delirious", this is it (the audi
EXTD=o anyway). I'm not positive its that _exact_ night (him using a f
EXTD=an's camera to take a picture of his crotch isn't on this CD) but
EXTD= it _is_ the Delirious comedy routine. Its all here, gay Ralph Kr
EXTD=amden & Ed Norton, gay Mr.T, Ricky "Its just so rediiiculous" Ric
EXTD=ardo etc. \n\nThis is Eddie Murphy's first and finest routine. No
EXTD=ne of his later specials or even any of his films ever surpassed
EXTD=this stand-up set.\n\n\nAMAZON.COM CUSTOMER REVIEW\nexample of 80
EXTD='s standup comedy, May 6, 2003\nReviewer: James N Simpson (Gold C
EXTD=oast, QLD Australia)\nThis album is a classic 80's comedy album.
EXTD=For those of you who have seen Delirious a lot of the main stuff
EXTD=from that video is on this CD. The Mr T material is of course cla
EXTD=ssic as is the Mick Jagger description.\nThis album does have a s
EXTD=ubstantial amount of swearing which may offend some people and yo
EXTD=u shouldn't buy this album by mistake if you're looking for somet
EXTD=hing for the kiddies because they like Donkee from Shrek or Eddie
EXTD= Murphy in the Nutty Professor. The swearing isn't just mindless
EXTD=though it does fit the comedy.\n\nA lot of the comedy is rather d
EXTD=ated but it does reflect the times of the 80's. The Aids stuff es
EXTD=pecially related to the fear and unknown aspects of the disease a
EXTD=t the time. I found it interesting his description of Michael Jac
EXTD=kson which reflects what the king of pop was like in the early 80
EXTD='s. There's a fair bit of prejudice jokes against homosexuals, wo
EXTD=men and other races but if you can overlook that those jokes are
EXTD=pretty funny.\n\nOn this album Eddie tells about why he became a
EXTD=comedian, his childhood and other hilarious stuff. Some of the ga
EXTD=gs are obviously visual which is a bit stupid. It's not as funny
EXTD=as his earlier self titled one but it's still worth listening to.
