EXTD=lf-titled album, Reverberation, and the late-'90s re-formation th
EXTD=at has so far led to four further studio albums and two widely re
EXTD=leased live sets, Songs to Learn and Sing went over 20 years as t
EXTD=he lone introduction to Echo & the Bunnymen. The group has more t
EXTD=han doubled its output since the compilation was released, so eit
EXTD=her a revision or a sequel has been a long time coming. "More Son
EXTD=gs to Learn and Sing," the subtitle of The Very Best of Echo & th
EXTD=e Bunnymen, is misleading since the disc is not supplemental. Wit
EXTD=h the exception of "The Puppet," it contains each of the selectio
EXTD=ns from Songs to Learn and Sing, and it adds ten songs: two from
EXTD=Echo & the Bunnymen, three from Evergreen, one each from What Are
EXTD= You Going to Do with Your Life?, Flowers, and Siberia, in additi
EXTD=on to covers of the Doors' "People Are Strange" (from the Lost Bo
EXTD=ys soundtrack) and Tim Hardin's "Hang on to a Dream" (for the com
EXTD=pletists). Of course, this doesn't wrap up all the highlights, es
EXTD=pecially when it comes to the first four albums. And if you're dr
EXTD=awn to the earlier, hungrier, darker material, Crocodiles and Hea
EXTD=ven Up Here are top-to-bottom necessary. [The edition released in

EXTD=.COM CUSTOMER REVIEW\nAn Excellent Package With A Few Flaws, Febr
EXTD=uary 3, 2007\nReviewer: Jason W. Bellenger (Wyoming, Michigan, Un
EXTD=ited States)\n \nHere's the DVD tracklisting, since Amazon do
EXTD=es not list it: \n\n01 The Cutter \n02 The Killing Moon \n03 Seve
EXTD=n Seas \n04 Bring On The Dancing Horses \n05 The Game \n06 Lips L
EXTD=ike Sugar \n07 Nothing Lasts Forever \n08 Rust \n\nAs with most m
EXTD=usic that I purchase sound quality is usually most important. Thi
EXTD=s release does not disappoint! In fact, this is simply the best r
EXTD=emastering I've heard on a Bunnymen release! With mastering by Gi
EXTD=ovanni Scatola, these songs sound even better than the 2003/2004
EXTD=Rhino remasters. The music is crisper, louder, and more punchy. (
EXTD="Lips Like Sugar" sounds awesome with it's roaring intro!) That's
EXTD= not to say that those recent remasters weren't good, but I perso
EXTD=nally think that the music sounds brighter on this compilation. \n
EXTD=\nNext up we have the excellent packaging and tracklisting. Some
EXTD=fans may complain about the release being presented in digipak fo
EXTD=rmat, but I quite like it. Plus, we have the classic cover photo
EXTD=by Anton Corbijn. For a 1-CD collection, the release highlights 2
EXTD=0 Echo & The Bunnymen classics from 1980 to 2005! We could argue
EXTD=what should and what should have not been included, but for the c
EXTD=asual fan this sums up their history quite well. \n\nMy major com
EXTD=plaint with this release is the 8-track DVD. Considering the list
EXTD= price, I think the DVD should have featured much more than 8 tra
EXTD=cks. Surely these guys have more than 8 videos! How about includi
EXTD=ng all their music videos?!?! Considering how most record labels
EXTD=work, this will probably be our only chance to get their videos o
EXTD=n DVD for several years to come. It's only a random sample of the
EXTD=ir career! I guess fans will be left "You-Tube"-ing the rest! \n\n
EXTD=Note that the package states "all promo videos are stereo except
EXTD=track 2 in mono". What is track 2? "The Killing Moon"! Unfortunat
EXTD=ely, Rhino let me down here. Why include all videos in stereo exc
EXTD=ept this one? Not that it really mattered, considering the origin
EXTD=al audio tracks seem to have been used on all the videos instead
EXTD=of overdubbing newly remastered audio. That's why "The Killing Mo
EXTD=on" video sounds poor and flat, besides it being in mono! \n\nThe
EXTD= recent videos sound fine, but they are mastered at too low of vo
EXTD=lume. Sounds like laziness! Do an A/B comparison between "The Cut
EXTD=ter" as heard on the DVD video and "The Cutter" as heard on the C
EXTD=D. It goes to show how well the music has been restored for the C
EXTD=D and how carelessly flat it was left for the DVD. As for the pic
EXTD=ture, it is surprisingly excellent, considering the age of some o
EXTD=f the earlier promos. Too bad the same care couldn't have been gi
EXTD=ven to the underlying audio track. I expect better work from the
EXTD=Rhino team! \n\nAs a casual fan myself, I must admit that I still
EXTD= really enjoy this best of, including the DVD (despite the faults
EXTD=). It's the first time I've seen many of these videos. Add in the
EXTD= excellent CD audio, and it's a worthy package to add to any Echo
EXTD= collection. \n\n\n\nAMAZON.COM CUSTOMER REVIEW\nlong overdue, Fe
EXTD=bruary 1, 2007\nReviewer: Brian Andersen "www.villiersterrace.com
EXTD=" (Cincinnati, OH United States)\n\nFinally we get an official vi
EXTD=deo collection on DVD with this remaster of the 1985 release! \n\n
EXTD=The original 1985 release of "Songs To Learn and Sing" was a must
EXTD= have for every college kid I knew back then. For some US fans th
EXTD=is was the first album to expose them to the Bunnymen. \n\nThis e
EXTD=xpanded and remastered version picks up where the old one left of
EXTD=f and then picks up again when they reformed with the UK Top 10 a
EXTD=lbum "Evergreen" and continues to the 2006 release "Siberia". \n\n
EXTD=My only complaint is that this is not in 5.1 surround sound.\n\n\n
EXTD=Half.com Album Notes\nFor a long time, the very excellent 1985 se
EXTD=t SONGS TO LEARN AND SING was the Echo and the Bunnymen compilati
EXTD=on to get. It wasn't until 2007 that a release came along to top
EXTD=it, which was VERY BEST OF: MORE SONGS TO LEARN AND SING. The rea
EXTD=son VERY BEST OF can replace, rather than supplement, its predece
EXTD=ssor, is that it contains nearly all the tracks from SONGS, plus
EXTD=10 additional songs.\nThese tunes date from the late '80s and '90
EXTD=s albums, and show how the band's creative spark and sonic tradem
EXTD=ark remained intact throughout their career. Covers of Tim Hardin
EXTD='s "Hang On To a Dream" and the Doors' "People Are Strange" round
EXTD= out the set, but the real treat is still the early work, which h
EXTD=olds up as well as almost any music from that era.\n(Note: The Pa
EXTD=ckage also contains a bonus DVD with eight videos.)\nDVD Features
