EXTD=s popularity -- he still had a dedicated fSo, the time was ripe for a hiat
EXTD=us, and Seger slipped into normal life. While he was away, his Eminem, the
EXTD= White Stripes, and most significantly in Seger's case, Kid Rock, who was 
EXTD=often seen and it soon became known that he was working on a new album, wh
EXTD=ich turned out to be Face the Pon this project steadily since about 2000; 
EXTD=while most date from 2005 and 2006, a few are as oldger's most carefully c
EXTD=onsidered record in quite some time, from its overarching themes -- largea
EXTD=s a total surprise that Face the Promise feels like his most complete reco
EXTD=rd since 1982's The berate, slick anthems of Like a Rock or the overly con
EXTD=sidered feel of The Fire Inside or the po is not a Silver Bullet Band albu
EXTD=m -- this is the first Seger album to be credited as a solo efrgely forgot
EXTD=ten Brand New Morning than his previous few records. That doesn't mean tha
EXTD=t this isng his age, which doesn't happen all that often. And that's why F
EXTD=ace the Promise was largely rer Vince Gill's "Real Mean Bottle," the only 
EXTD=cut that sounds crafted with the radio in mind, butccable chops, which is 
EXTD=ideal for Seger. Ironically, given that this was made with hired hands, ti
EXTD=on, although Seger was savvy enough to pick the right musicians and atmosp
EXTD=here for both -- itrecharged by his hiatus -- or more specifically, the ti
EXTD=me he's spent with his family, living an entirely appropriate spokesman fo
EXTD=r everyday middle Americans. That's what he was at his peak, singer -- a l
EXTD=ittle older, a little wiser, a little more settled, but still restless and
EXTD= singings of Seger & the Silver Bullet Band from 1978.]  -- Stephen Thomas

EXTD=rts, however this album destroys that idea starting with Wreck This Heart 
EXTD=and three other rof view narrowly drawn to a specific age group and this s
EXTD=hows that while he's 61, the pressures as he provides insight to their exp
EXTD=eriences from a position of having just lived it with the pery inspiration
EXTD=al, a very Bob-like ballad. Seger's voice soars into the bridge like it di
EXTD=d with, his voice is even better in the mid and low notes with a little mo
EXTD=re gravel adding more levit comments - I don't think anybody got it. In my
EXTD= mind you've got to have the discipline to allown Thunderbirds". Good fill
EXTD=er. Makes you think he's hangin' with the post-college crowd now thoun kid
EXTD=s looking at the big American dream. "I'm gonna to out and face the promis
EXTD=e of the promisein terms of providing strength by realization that we all 
EXTD=have challenges. \n\nSeger's Comments classic Seger lyrics. Memorable line
EXTD=, "This is a whole new faith almost like a new religion".  Time", an old b
EXTD=and associated with Prince. Lyrics are obvious and contrived. Filler. \n\n
EXTD=7 - "political position, I would have preferred he chose different lyrics 
EXTD=for this song, they sound to Merle Haggard (Kid's a big fan of Haggard). L
EXTD=ots of long notes that take advantage of Gill'sittle underwhelmed with thi
EXTD=s song, Bob's covers are usually excellent choices like Rodney Crowef this
EXTD= was a minor hit on the Country charts. \n\nSeger's producer on "Real Mean
EXTD= Bottle" - He (rse song, acoustic guitar, Bob, and a little drum. A counte
EXTD=r to "Real Mean Bottle" preaching thkened from the pinnacle of his singing
EXTD= on "Live Bullet" and "Stranger in Town". Still, Bob was niversal personal
EXTD=, making music that is either a joy to listen or sustenance for trying tim
EXTD=es. t condone this. \n\n10 - "Between" - Contains the best lead guitar on 
EXTD=the album by Kenny Greenbove the way I sang it, I love the way I played it
EXTD=, I love the way the girls sang it. And it saye song. However there are so
EXTD=me incredibly poor choices in which notes to hit that had me physico relea
EXTD=se a single version that eradicates the cringe factor. \n\nSeger's Comment
EXTD=s - "I thought "The Long Goodbye" - Should have been placed between two ro
EXTD=ckers because as the last song, it es that linger after the song ends, "Th
EXTD=e long goodbye continues on, through fog and rain and fawith that with my 
EXTD=aunt after my mother died. And now, my wife is dealing with it her father.
EXTD= Soger is not prolific, his fans have much higher expectations than those 
EXTD=of say, Tom Petty or Bru too young to have grown up with Seger, I recommen
EXTD=d buying the following songs which you can fie DVD includes the video for 
EXTD="Like A Rock". I don't know of any song where the singing and lead doing t
EXTD=wo songs in San Diego, which really displays how great a performer he is, 
EXTD=though his bay not at least that song's video? I did appreciate the short 
EXTD=interviews they did with Seger shoW\nAn older more introspective Bob Seger

EXTD=.., September 12, n what is on commercial rock radio today? Definitely. It
EXTD= is just not up to par at all with Bob'ies were memorable. The approach to
EXTD= songwriting on Promise is primarily just couplets sung overmy Awards, my 
EXTD="Record of the Year" Real Mean Bottle -- but for the most part nothing her
EXTD=e stand and not feeling the pressure to "fill" it to 65 or 70 minutes like
EXTD= some other aging roots rockdiocre songs, for some reason he wrote songs h
EXTD=e no longer has the range to sing. \n\nFinally thear them on the first sev
EXTD=en songs?! As for the guitars, JT Cornelius definitely rocks the houselver
EXTD= Bullet Band. Let me just say, I think the drums sound terrible on this CD
EXTD=..... \n\nAnyway, out there right now. However on the Bob Seger scale, thi
EXTD=s has to be down in the cellar with Thty Loveless \nProducer: Bob Seger \n
