EXTD= Released July 2, 2002\n\nAMG EXPERT REVIEW: Epic/Legacy's double
EXTD=-disc set The Ultimate Kansas pretty much fulfills the promise of
EXTD= its title. Although it doesn't delve into the group's latter-day
EXTD= recordings for MCA and other labels, that's not a problem becaus
EXTD=e most listeners -- whether they're fairweather or dedicated fans
EXTD= -- will want to concentrate on the group's peak in the '70s, whi
EXTD=ch is precisely what this does. Over the course of 26 tracks, all
EXTD= the hits and album-oriented radio staples are featured, usually
EXTD=in their full-length album versions, plus a number of fan favorit
EXTD=es and key album tracks that help draw a full picture of what the
EXTD= group did. The remastered, expanded single-disc of The Best of K
EXTD=ansas remains the best bet for the casual fan, since it has all t
EXTD=he big hits on one disc, but anybody seeking to dig deeper than t
EXTD=he hits and radio favorites -- without actually hearing the origi
EXTD=nal albums -- should turn here, since its selection and sound is
EXTD=better than the three-disc box.  -- Stephen Thomas Erlewine\n\nAM

EXTD=l of the band's best songs left off of this. Icarus? Miracles Out
