Hello,

Introduction
------------

This is the 3dfx glide library. This is a library that supports low-level
access to the functions of the 3dfx Voodoo graphics chipset.

Lib Notes
---------
There are several environment variables that can be used to control glide.
I'm not sure where they are documented officially, but I have found these
useful:

FX_GLIDE_SWAPINTERVAL - controls whether or not swapping is synced to VBI.
Set to 1 to avoid tears.

Bugs etc - PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
--------------------------------------------
This library has only been tested with the Diamond Monster 3d card,
containing the ICS Gendac dac. It is possible cards with different
dacs or manufacturers will not work.

Unfortunately, at this time THE LIBRARY DOES NOT WORK ON THE BEBOX!
The library is unable to determine the dac type and dies.

Bug Fixes from earler versions
------------------------------
The keyboard works now.
The demo screen text is legible now.

Installation
------------
There are two steps to making your 3dfx card work on the BeOS:

1. Copy the driver, thdfx, into /home/config/add-ons/kernel/drivers. If
this directory doesn't exist, create it.

2. Copy the library, lib/3DfxGlideLib2X.so, into /home/config/lib.

Alternatively, you can run the glideinstall.sh script, which will do
the following for you, creating any necessary directories as well.

Demos
-----
In the Demos folder there are 25 demos. Wait - don't call all your
friends in the room to see them. They're pretty unexciting for the
casual viewer. Their purpose is to demonstrate the use of the glide
library.

The keyboard now works with the demo programs.

The other cool demos you've probably heard about, such as Flipper and
Valley of Ra, require another set of libraries which together are
known as the Arcade Toobox, or ATB. We're working on that :)

If you go to 3dfx's web site, they have other demos, such as some stuff
from a screen saver contest, and some of these demos are pretty impressive.
They can be recompiled for BeOS pretty easily.

ENJOY! Problems/comments/really cool demos to:
